This company sells curated bags of Toronto goodies to support small businesses

At a time when supporting small businesses is more important than ever, one grassroots community organization has created a unique way to help local establishments in Toronto.

Bag of Toronto sells curated bags filled with an assortment of five to seven specialty products from local vendors in seven different neighbourhoods. And they’re back in time for Mother’s Day.

Delicious treats, lifestyle products, and more can be found in the bags representing more than 85 local businesses in Bloorcourt, Bloordale Village, Ossington, Queen St. West, College Promenade, Riverside, and the Trinity Bellwoods. And all items are all vegetarian-friendly.

Since co-founders Nick Milum and Derek Liu launched Bag of Toronto in Spring 2020 in response to the pandemic, more than 90 partner businesses have been supported with over $100,000 in revenue generated. Over 1750 bags were sold during Spring 2020, Holidays 2020, and Valentine’s Day 2021 editions, which helped raise $6,500 for hyper-local charities in each neighbourhood.
