'Unbelievable': Oshawa woman wins $1 million in lottery
An Oshawa mother and grandmother has a million reasons to be smiling these days.
Beatrice Burdey won $1 million by matching all seven numbers in the Encore portion of the June 30 Ontario 49 draw.
A regular lottery player, Burdey said she always plays the Encore.
“When I brought my ticket to the retailer, I think he was more excited than I was,” she noted. “It didn’t feel real.”
She plans to invest, share with family, and plan a family vacation.
“It’s unbelievable!”
The winning ticket was bought at Sobeys on Wilson Road in Oshawa.
