The age requirement for vaccines in York Region has just been lowered for residents in five postal codes.

Anyone who is 35 years old or older and lives in L4L, L6A, L4K, L4J, or L3S is now available to get a vaccine dose.

The clinics are appointment-based only, so you'll have to book yours ahead of time — the locations for this age group include Georgina's Ice Palace, Aaniin Community Centre in Markham, Canada's Wonderland, Maple Community Centre in Vaughan, and Richmond Green Centre in Richmond Hill.

According to York Region's news release, 20,000 vaccination appointments will be released to the new group of eligible residents.

On Monday, Ontario lowered the age requirement for the AstraZeneca vaccine to 40 years old, and residents in this expanded age group can now sign up for their dose at any of the province's participating pharmacies.
